St. Rita of Cascia

St. Rita (1381-1457) was an Italian Augustinian nun. Despite obstacles, she entered religious life after her husband was murdered and her sons died. She is known as the patron of impossible causes due to answered prayers attributed to her intercession. She bore a stigmatic wound on her forehead.
